Eye inflammation in dogs and cats may cause the following symptoms:
Red and swollen eyes: The tissue around the eye may appear red and swollen, which may be caused by an inflammatory reaction in the eye tissue.
Increased eye discharge: The eyes may produce excessive tears or other unusual discharge, possibly to clear away irritation or infection.
Eye scratching: The dog may become uncomfortable and try to scratch the eye area with its paws or palms.
Moist or clammy appearance of eyes: Eyes may appear moist or clammy due to excess discharge.
Frequent blinking or eye closing: Dogs may blink frequently or tend to close their eyes in an attempt to relieve eye discomfort.
